'Kielder Festival of Lanterns' Celebrate the heritage of Northumberland and cultural diversity in a fun-filled day out for all the family - the first ever magical lantern festival at Kielder Water & Forest Park.
During the day, you will have the opportunity to take part in a range of family-orientated music, art and dance workshops celebrating cultural diversity and the heritage of Northumberland, as well as the chance to make your own lantern.
As the evening draws in you can take part in a lantern-lit procession through Kielder Forest and down to the shores of Kielder Water, where an extravagant water-based finale awaits you. Incorporating floating lanterns, water jets, screens and dream-like water imagery, this promises to be an impressive display in a truly unique setting.
The event is organised by the Kielder Partnership, together with Dodgy Clutch, and is supported by Northumberland County Council.
Lantern making workshops will take place at Leaplish Waterside Park at 12pm-1.30pm or 1.45pm-3.15pm, cost £4.50 and must be booked in advance on 01434 251 000. The evening parade, also at Leaplish Waterside Park, is free but please book your place on 01434 251 000.
